Life has a way of changing course, taking you in a completely different direction than you expected!
After a lifetime of struggling with anxiety and constantly worrying about absolutely everything, I realized I had a decision to make. I was tired of fighting. I was exhausted from hiding my true self from the world around me.
Something had to change.
I needed to save myself!
This realization was the beginning of several years of psychology research and learning what worked and what didn't work for me. Eventually, I created a process that completely changed my life. (Read more about my story here.)
During this time, I studied mindfulness and discovered a whole new way of thinking about the body and mind relationship. Mindfulness became so important to my life that I eventually became a Certified Meditation Instructor focusing on mindfulness and anxiety management. This
I now help others break free from the negative thoughts that keep them feeling trapped under the weight of constant worry, stress, and crippling anxiety.
I believe that building our emotional health is the key to strengthening our resiliency and living our best life.
Sharing My Story
When family and friends noticed how much happier and stress-free I had become, they started asking questions. After all, how could someone who had always been filled with so much anxiety, fear, and worry, suddenly be at peace?
Talking about my own mental and emotional health wasn't easy at first. It was something I had always kept hidden from others for fear of judgment. Talking about my struggles required a vulnerability that I didn't think I had, but the more I shared, the easier it became. Instead of feeling shame, I felt emotionally strong for the first time in my life.
I realized that sharing my story gave the people around me permission to share their stories too. It opened the door to the possibility of lasting change.
I was asked over and over again how I changed from being someone who barely managed to get through the day, to someone who now felt emotionally strong and at peace. I wish I could say there was a magic pill, but it was a process.
A process I was more than happy to share!
Writing out this process for my family, eventually led to writing the book, Taming Crazy: Confessions and Lessons. My entire heart and soul went into this book because to share the process, I first needed to share the truth.
Currently, I am helping people, just like you, on their journey to becoming emotionally stronger. I also co-host a podcast called The Taming Crazy Podcast: Views from Midlife!
