Yesterday, I had the pleasure of chatting with Kevin Olenick on his podcast Agree or Disagree We discussed mental health, anxiety, bullying, anxiety, and of course my book, Taming Crazy – Confessions and Lessons. We also discussed vulnerability. In particular, how being brave and courageous enough to be vulnerable can give you permission to release the emotions that keep you feeling trapped.
Allowing yourself to be vulnerable is difficult if you’ve spent a lifetime being the emotional wall that you always thought protected you and I’m speaking as a fairly recent recruit to the vulnerability team. The thing is… the more you share, the easier it becomes and the unexpected gift is that others feel comfortable enough to share themselves with you.
Vulnerability takes practice. Much like anything new, it can be scary and uncomfortable but in the right circumstances, with the right people, it feels… right. Safe. Comfortable.
Take a listen to the podcast below and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Hope you’re having a great Summer!
